Your proposals are due on Monday, February 22, 2021 by 11:59pm ET, that’s next week! This week’s tutorials focus on some of the final details in your proposal, and how exactly you submit your final proposal.
Tutorial 14: How do I prepare a Data Management Plan (DMP)? & Tutorial 30: How should I prepare the project summary/abstract?
The Data Management Plan (DMP) deals with digital data – if you plan to publicly disclose digital data generated during your SBIR/STTR research efforts, you must provide a DMP with your proposal. In order to advance scientific knowledge, the Office of Science encourages applicants to “consider the potential benefits of their data to their own fields of research, fields other than their own, and society at large.” The project summary or abstract that you prepare as part of your DOE SBIR/STTR application is important and WILL become a public document. This tutorial will help you decide what to include and how to make sure it’s ready to be shared publicly.
Tutorial 24: Facilities and Equipment
While these aspects of your research and proposal may seem simple, it is important that they not be overlooked as they show that the applicant understands what is needed and has secured access to the needed equipment and facilities. This tutorial covers how to present this information and covers expectations and limits for these important aspects of your research and proposal.
Tutorial 32: How and When do I submit my DOE Phase I SBIR/STTR Application?
It’s the tutorial you’ve been waiting for! This tutorial provides a detailed look at exactly how and when you should submit your application – this involves what format the files should be in, suggested tips for file names, and how to take the final step, clicking Sign and Submit Application!
